Dear HRA family and Friends,
The auction date has changed to October 27, 2012! Be sure to change your calendars. Parents are encouraged to contact Jacki Rose to begin plans for this all-important event.
I have returned from a restful and warm trip to California. I enjoyed visiting my place of birth (San Francisco), re-acquainting myself with my oldest godson (football/academic scholar at Benedictine College) after ten years away, traveling through Lassen Peak National Park, visiting relatives in Red Bluff (102 degrees), and driving through the gloriously majestic redwoods along the Avenue of the Giants. What an enchanted forest it is! My time with my parents was priceless. I thank God for all they have done and continue to do to encourage me to live a life of joy, courage, and virtue.
There are still some share hour projects to be done for anyone who has hours remaining or for anyone who wishes to begin to take care of the 2012/13 share hours.
Thank you to Mr. Main for remaining as key administrator on campus during my vacation. Thanks to Mrs. Furby for her work in the resource room and the student/parent handbook. Thanks to Mrs. Schirda for hosting an excellent reading club; they just finished The Lord of the Flies and will move on to Pygmalion next. Bravo to the students who have been reading and attending her classes.
Come by to say hello and tell us how your summer is going. The office is open from 9- noon each day. We are excitedly preparing for the new school year and look forward to sharing all our new changes and introducing you to a few new staff members to join our family.
Continue to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of vacation.
P.S. The school would ask you to keep in your prayers the repose of the souls of Mr. Joe Dockwiller (Mrs. Schirda’s grandfather) and Mr. Nick Reed (brother of HRA alum, John Reed).
