Dear HRA Families and Friends,
Today the Children’s BBC aired an episode of Extreme Schools in which they featured two thirteen year old girls from Essex who crossed the Atlantic to experience school life at Holy Rosary Academy, a classical Catholic school in Anchorage, Alaska.
The students visited us last year for the first week of December. It has been nearly a year since their visit but our students remember them well and look forward to viewing the episode. It is always intriguing to see how another country views our school customs and ways. The week of the girls’ visit was filled with exciting activities that showed off the cold and snow and beauty of our school and our city and our state.
All visitors to my blog as a result of the show are most cordially welcomed. We hope that you enjoyed the episode and that you have been inspired by the classical approach to learning that we are attempting here in Anchorage. Our High School has been ranked as a School of Excellence and among the top Catholic High Schools in the nation. It was a great opportunity to share our love of learning and desire for excellence with the visiting Brits and would welcome another visit from them anytime.
I look forward to writing more after I have seen the episode.
